Taiwan's semiconductor manufacturer TSMC plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of modern artificial intelligence. Its centralization in Taiwan places an incredible and precarious dependence on this region by the entire world.

The current geopolitical landscape has created a singularly vulnerable point of failure. While the United States has been utilizing the global semiconductor supply chain as a control point against China, Taiwan’s significance still poses a substantial challenge. Although the U.S. is expanding its own semiconductor production capabilities through investments in TSMC, this is not a complete solution to the problem.

Amidst this uncertainty, it is imperative that we rely on negotiation and diplomacy. These tools are our best hope in guiding humanity through the challenges of modern AI, navigating through a landscape where the stakes are high and the consequences of failure could be global.
